Faith Assembly of God’s story is one of faith, perseverance, sacrifice, grace, and resilience.
Our humble beginnings originated in 1960 with a small group of men and women who had a vision to reach their community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ by planting a church in Hyannis, Massachusetts.
They met for some time in an upstairs storefront on Main Street. Our current location at 154 Bearses Way in Hyannis is a direct result of their faith, their prayers, and their sacrifice.
It was March 1, 1960, when the small congregation of First Assembly of God of Hyannis took a huge step of faith and purchased an unfinished basement on Bearses Way.
Fully committed to the vision of the church, the congregation gave their time, talents, and treasures to finish the foundation of the church. Upon completion in 1961, they began holding weekly services in their new basement church.
Later, in 1965, an Assembly of God Church in Dennis merged with First Assembly of God of Hyannis and the newly formed congregation renamed, becoming Faith Assembly of God. By 1968 the merger provided momentum and funds to further expand.
In 1968 the congregation built an above-ground structure (which we now enjoy as our dining hall), added a sanctuary, and purchased a house with an attached cottage situated on the adjacent property.
During the period of 1970 - 1977 they continued to embark on two major building campaigns, expanding the sanctuary to its current size and adding a two-story educational wing.
These steps of faith helped provide a church center for several ministry outreaches, some of which continue to this day. During the next few decades, Faith Assembly had a significant impact in our local community and experienced seasons of tremendous growth.
Today, Faith Assembly of God continues to impact lives for Christ. Within its four walls, and within the local community, church members continue to build their faith and share it with others.
